Zinc-Aluminum-Magnesium Coated Steel


Magnesium-aluminum-zinc ternary alloy coated steel strip has high corrosion resistance, which is more than 5 times that of pure zinc-coated products (GI) with the same coating weight. The corrosion resistance of the cut is particularly obvious. It can replace the steel strip that is processed after forming and then hot-dip galvanized. The specifications cover 0.4-2.5mm thickness and 1000-2080mm width.

Zn-Al-Mg Coated Steel features:

A next-gen material with a Zn-Al-Mg alloy coating, delivering superior corrosion,chemical,scratch resistance. Maintains peak performance in harsh environments, prolonging service life while enhancing resource efficiency.

The synergistic effect of aluminum and magnesium enhances wear resistance, formability, and surface durability, enabling direct substitution of GI products without altering existing manufacturing, assembly, or painting processes.

1.Planar corrosion resistance Test sample: Under the same experimental conditions, the weight of pure zinc coating is 100g/m2, and the weight of zinc-aluminum-magnesium coating is 70 g/m2. The zinc-aluminum-magnesium coating product shows better planar corrosion resistance.

2.Cut corrosion resistance Test samples: Pure zinc coating weight is 100g/m2, zinc-aluminum-magnesium coating weight is 70g/m2, pure zinc-coated steel plate has red rust on the cut, while zinc-aluminum-magnesium coated steel plate has no red rust

3.Forming corrosion resistance Test sample: Coating weight is 70g/m2 Test method: The sample is cupped with a height of 4mm and a cyclic corrosion test is performed according to ISO 1197-1 method A

4.Weight reduction characteristics Zinc-aluminum-magnesium coating has better corrosion resistance than pure zinc coating, and a lower coating weight is required to achieve the same corrosion resistance effect.

5.Friction characteristics Test conditions: Pulling speed is 15 mm/s, positive pressure is 5kN, zinc-aluminum-magnesium coating has better wear resistance.
